Myron is 5!

Okay, he turned 5 a while ago, but here’s some evidence.

Myron and Em picked up balloons, including a gold “5”-shaped one.

He waited in his lookout tree for friends to come.

Friends came from near and far. When they arrived, we made robot costumes and chalk art on the driveway.

I made Myron’s costume beforehand. It’s based on the robot from the book series, “Ricky Ricotta’s Mighty Robot”. The robot is in the form of an anthropomorphized mouse, and he fights villains who come from other planets and attempt to take over Earth.

Our neighbor peered through his storm door with this box over his head and then showed up to join us.

Myron led a robot parade up and down the street. At some point, someone gave him a curtain rod as a sceptre, and then one of my buddies augmented it with aluminum foil. Not yet having a vocabulary that includes the word “sceptre”, Myron called it a “king hold”.

Myron got a bunch of robot-themed toys, including a hand-me-down from our friend Caitlin’s childhood: a classic wind-up robot called Lilliput. I asked Myron later that day what his favorite part of his birthday was. His response,

After everyone left and I got to play with my new toys by myself.
